Shane Westphelan

About Me

Hey there! My name is Shane, and I am a cybersecurity enthusiast on the hunt for my next adventure in the world of tech. I graduated from Suffolk County Community College in 2021 with an associate in applied science and finshed my bachelors, studying at Plattsburgh, NY, in computer security in May of 2023.

Technical Skills and Credentials

Throughout my studies, I've developed a strong foundation in a variety of cybersecurity skills. I'm confident in my abilities to configure Cisco routers and switches, set up VMs, conduct ethical hacking with tools like Nmap and use wireless scanning techniques. I also have experience in application security, digital forensics with Autopsy and Wireshark, pfSense, snort configuration, and Windows 10 AD. With a little bit of programming in Python and C. To top it all off, I even obtained my Security+ certification from CompTIA in August 2022.

Personal Pursuits and Hobbies

When I'm not studying up on the latest cybersecurity trends, you can usually find me on the golf course or hitting the ice to play some hockey. I like to think of golf as the ultimate hacker's game - it's all about strategy, precision, and patience. And as for hockey, well, there's nothing quite like the rush of adrenaline you get when you're zooming across the ice. Alongside my pursuit of cybersecurity, I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in new cultures.

But that's not all - I'm also a bit of a tech geek at heart. I love tinkering around with my 3D printer, experimenting with new designs and pushing the limits of what's possible. There's something so satisfying about taking an idea and turning it into a tangible object.

All in all, I'm excited about what the future holds in the world of cybersecurity. With my skills, passion, and creativity, I'm confident that I'll be able to make a real difference in this exciting and ever-evolving field.
